What’s the most important thing to remember when you go outdoors? A GPS? Colorful ultra light wool socks? A hand carved walking stick? Useful, maybe (and a handcarved walking stick? Talk about street cred)…but definitely not nearly as important to life in general as say…water. Water! The elixir of life, a wet and wild thing that covers 70% of the entire earth. Did you know that only 3% of the world’s water supply is drinkable? And you’d better bet your poolside-tanned bottom that it isn’t all equally distributed. Enter the organization: Water for People. Headquartered in Denver, CO, this cool organization strives to provide aqua-access to people in need the world over.
You like water (I hope) but you probably also like beer, right? That’s a dumb question, of course you do. And you probably like music, cool people, and doing things that make you feel good inside. So here’s an idea: Why don’t you scoot on down to the Festival for Water in Denver’s Civic Center Park on June 9th, 2013? From 4-9 PM, this free event is family friendly and open to the public, complete with bands, food trucks, and general awesomeness. If you check out their facebook page and website, they are giving away sweet prizes like an international trip for two and a year of free beer from Coors Light. Free beer! For a year! Sweet!!! Anyways, check it out yourself and I hope to see you there:
